  • ShipAlert POD e-mail notification: Customers can now receive POD e-mail notifications of deliveries as well as provide their customers with ShipAlert notifications thereby increasing the visibility of their shipments.

  • Standard Rates: Shipments can now be rated with both discount AND standard rates from a single rate request. This provides the customer with the ability to quickly determine chargebacks.

  • Auto Configuration: Auto configuration allows a customer to receive a new meter at the time of software installation, eliminating the current new meter registration process. This moves meter management to the customer.

  • Dg/HazMat form printing: The FedEx Express 1421C, FedEx Ground OP-900 and OP-950 forms can now be printed directly from FSMS eliminating the need to prepare these forms by hand.

  • Connectivity: Uses a dedicated connection to FedEx, enhancing security and bypassing the Internet entirely (for faster performance).

  • Offline and Self-contained: All shipping functionality is contained within the FSMS application, preventing the need for constant communications with FedEx systems to perform vital shipping functions. This greatly increases the speed of the application and significantly reduces security risks inherent in point-to-point electronic communications.

  • Customizable: FSMS is a transaction-based application that does not have a predetermined GUI. This allows a customer to develop an interface to meet specific business needs.

  • Integratable: FSMS is designed to allow tight integration with customer ERP, WMS and other systems. Tight integration allows for great business process efficiencies.

  • Scalable Technology: Adapts and expands to customers' changing needs, allowing a single installation of FSMS to support a large number of shipping origins, accounts, and meters regardless of location. This allows a customer to dedicate only the required amount of resources (hardware and personnel) as needed to support FSMS. The server application includes function-specific software modules and features that can be activated according to your business and shipping needs.

  • Global: FSMS can ship to and from any FedEx served origin and destination.

  • Multiple Shipments: Bundles to a single location and assigns a lower rate as available.

  • Activity Reports: Generates daily shipping activity reports. Reports include End of Day Transaction Report, Courier Report, Customer Invoice, and Shipment Report.

  • Customized Shipping Information: Informs you of available shipping services by location.

  • Shipping Labels: Prepares labels for U.S. domestic, U.S. Export, and International shipments.

  • Quick Cancellation: Cancels scheduled shipments easily.

  • Package Status Tracking: Generates package tracking numbers, which can be provided to your customers for convenient tracking.

  • Feature Rich: FSMS supports all FedEx Express and Ground services and all special services. FSMS has many features that enhance custom development.

Requirements

The FedEx Ship Manager Server software includes the application you will need to automate your shipping processes and expedite the processing of your FedEx shipments. The following are systems requirements or other hardware recommended to run the software at optimal capacity:

  • Windows 2000, 2003 Server, or Windows XP operating system
  • 512 MB RAM
  • Environment that is 50 to 95 degrees Fahrenheit (Always refer to your hardware manufacturer's manual for temperature specifications.)
  • 1.133 GHz processor

  • Hayes compatible 56k modem
  • 4X CD ROM drive

Since FedEx Ship Manager Server software offers the ability to communicate with FedEx directly through a network connection, the following items are required for network connectivity:

  • GoToAssist is used for support
  • The server running the software application must be configured to TCP/IP protocol
  • WinSocket must be loaded on the server
  • The server must have a network connection
  • A dedicated IP address is required
